Get Out of Your Country
Niagara Ministries Church of Midland
Pastor Angel De Jesus
We have two subjects this morning....one of them has to do with our dear father of faith, Abraham. Brother Abraham, the bible tells us that God talked with him, that God probably arrested him to be honest with you, to be in His ministry. One of the most powerful things with Abraham is that he was in a place called Ur, in the land of Chaldee. The bible doesn't say exactly when and how God talked to him, just that God appeared to him. Open up your bible to the book of Genesis, chapter 12. All it says in chapter 12, verse one is:
"Now, the Lord hath said unto Abraham, 'Get thee out of thy country, and from
thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will
show thee."
That's all it says. Now, my question is, was this an audible voice, was this a man, or a figure of a man that appeared to him and said "I am God!" Where did this voice come from? The thought alone, that He commanded Abraham, to number one, "Get out of your country." That was the first thing..."Get out of your country," Let's say you yourself are a country, you're a nation, you know that? Did you know that you are a nation? He said, get out from your nation...get out from your body. Get out, leave the old man behind! Get out! Think about it...get out of your country. Get out of your country...get out of your body. Get out of this that we call an earthen vessel...get out. But of course, when we read this, we want to associate it with the land of Babylon, the land of Iraq, which is the area where the land of Chaldee, the land of Ur was. Today, since the bible says in the New Testament that the old covenant is a type, a shadow of the new. A shadow of something that will come, something that is coming. So when I look through the eyes of a new covenant man...a new testament man, I have to see from the spirit reality.
See, it's not imagination where Abraham was down in Babylon, it has nothing to do with how it used to be. No, it's the reality that God said get out from your country, step out from your body. What body? The old body...the old man...the old country. It even says, "and from thy kindred" We can relate to our family if we want to, but I think that kindred is that closeness of things that we are so accustomed to, those things that we really relate so close that have to bear with us, that eat at the same table, that watch TV with us. Does that have to be your family? Well, the family of things that you surround yourself with can also be a kindred, because they are relative. They are in relation with what? With you. So you need to get out of your country, leave those ways behind. Do you remember the familiar spirit? Leave those familiar spirits behind, because he's bringing a new thing. Then it says, "and from thy father's house" What father was He talking about here? Well, I've got some good news for you... Yesterday, in Saudi Arabia, in Mecca, they were stoning the Devil! Yesterday was the day that the people of Islam take seven stones and cast them at a pillar of stone in Mecca called the Devil. Even the Islamic people cast stones at the Devil. I've got news for you....Jesus defeated the Devil. He's already down and out. He's out of commission! It's a pillar, they're throwing a rock at a pillar! Why would you want to give life to something that's already defeated? You see, lack of knowledge. They need to step out of their country, out of their kindred and out of their father's house, to see the reality of God. That's what Abraham was told to do...leave everything behind. Now he didn't say it as if only if you want to...no he said, get thee out! Get out of here! So we don't know if it was a voice, or a big man that stood up "Abraham, I'm God! I'm commanding you to get thee out of thy country, out of thy kindred, and from your family, and from your father's house, or was it a voice telling him from within, "what do you see around you, is this life? Look what you see...is this reality? Is there more here than we have been told what is? Is there more there? And then He says, just because you are obedient. What would he do? What is God going to do? Look at that....listen to this....He said for you to do something, He said leave the old way behind, and I will bless you! He says: and I will MAKE of thee... You know that word "make" there is the same word as make the heavens and earth, 6213? Make. He's going to make something here. Isn't that good? He's going to make something! God's going to make something out of you. The good news is, He's already done it. The problem is, we don't believe Him, but he's already done.
You are complete, from the top of your head to the sole of your feet. I didn't say it....God did. God did. Whole, complete. You see, when God does things, He always completes them. He's the God of completion. He's always complete. The one that is incomplete is man without God, but when God comes on the scene, man becomes complete. He said, I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shall be a blessing. Are you a blessing? I think you're a blessing all the time. Each one of you is a blessing. Only God blesses, every good gift comes from God. He says, I will bless thee and make thy name great, and thou shall be a blessing, and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse thee that curseth thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Why, when we read that scripture, do we forget that when God gave Abraham the blessing, it was not only for Abraham, but he said that in him, because he left his county, because he left his kindred, because he left his father's house, God is going to bless him, and through him, ALL the families of the earth were going to be blessed. So this was an astronomical figure, and infinite blessing. This blessing has no end. This is an eternal word that he gave to Abraham. So Abraham is walking under the impression that because you bless me, you're blessed, and where ever he goes, it's because God has led him to that place. So that's how it starts...God gave Abraham a promise. The next verse, four says: So Abraham departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him. So he heard, and he took action. He departed. At this time I'm not going to judge that he took Lot with him, and some of his relatives with him, I'm not going to judge that. I'm going to take you now to chapter 17. At this time, something else is happening over here. Abraham messed up a few times, but God did not stop talking to him. That's good news isn't it? Just because you mess up, doesn't mean He stops talking to you! This is an infinite God, His word has settled in heaven forever. It doesn't matter what we are going through. What matters is what He has already made us to be. That's what you need to keep in your heart. The time doesn't matter, you are eternal. That's what matters, that's how you must look at everything. In chapter 17, verse 1, it says "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine (ninety-nine years old!) The Lord appeared to Abraham and said unto him 'I, el shadday, Almighty, walk before me and be thou perfect.' " Is it hard to be perfect? If you believe it is impossible, it is impossible, but if you believe it's possible to walk perfect, then it is possible. Only you distinguish that, it's how much of yourself are you willing to give up for this? Before chapter 17 Abraham has already had Ishmael, has set Lot free, he already went to Egypt, and almost lost his wife to the Egyptian.
This guy has gone through some things in life. At this time God appeared to him
again and tells him "Abraham, cut it out! Stop it! It's time that you
walk perfect before Me!" See, from the beginning, God is a forgiving God. He
doesn't keep a record of what you do or what you don't do. He's always fixing
things, that's what He does. You mess it up, He fixes it. Man fell, He picked us
up. And it says in verse two, "And I will make my covenant between me and thee
and will multiply thee exceedingly." Remember when He said get thee out of your
house, get thee out of your country, away from your family? And you know, right
from the beginning, Abraham didn't do that, Abraham chose to do what his psyche
was telling him. But even then, God said, "Okay, now straighten yourself up and
walk before me now. "And Abram fell on his face and God talked with him" So what
happened? That speaks to me of repentance. Then in verse four; "As for me,
behold, my covenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many
nations. Neither shall thy name anymore be called Abram, but thy name shall be
Abraham, for a father of many nations have I made thee."
He's already made a father of many nations. He's telling him, walk with me
anyway, I promise that you're going to be a father of many nations. And he
says the same thing to each one of us...we are fathers of many nations too. We
have children, every child is a nation, that's how we all came to be.
That's why Noah had three. It's interesting, those three sons. On this earth
there's only three different colors, Mongoloid, Caucasian, and Black.
Everything else is a mix of those three, and out of them we have nations. In
verse 10 it says; "this is my covenant, which you keep, between me and you and
thy seed after thee; every manchild among you shall be circumcised." God, that
was not fair! You only took the male. But I say thank you God, I
don't have to bring them into this world, the woman does! The price the man paid
in those days, circumcision, was not to be compared with the woman delivering
the child. God knew that the woman under pain brought forth life, and now
because the man is supposed to bring life under covenant, he has to suffer some
pain too, thank God they were only eight days old when it happened to them. But
to Abraham, when it happened, he was ninety-nine years old! Consider at
ninety-nine, someone taking a sharp knife and bssst! Talk about not being able
to walk for a while! God, at this time, making covenant, there has to be a cut
of the flesh, split something. He says, I'm releasing, at this time, your seed
on the earth. Circumcision. Now you can release the seed on the earth that I
want. Ishmael was not the promised one. Isaac is the one. Abraham could not get
Sarah with child, so she sent Haggar to him, it was easy for him to have a
child, Ishmael, with her. He couldn't have a child with Sarah though. She had a
dead womb. But God said " today I'm circumcising you and you will be a father
next year." Abraham is supposed to be a blessing to the whole earth, his seed
carrying the blessing, you are his blessing. Get thee out of the country, get
thee out from thy kindred, get thee out of thy father's house. Your entire
system has changed. Whatever you thought it was, now it's changed totally. You
must look at things with a new set of eyes. Leave your country, leave your
kindred, leave your father's house. In other words, stop trusting in anything
else but God. The only one who has kept you breathing till today is God. We've
even been taught in past times, if it's the Lord's will, He will make me live.
Well, it IS the Lord's will that you live and not die. So let's believe that,
and walk in that and forget about the rest! It is His will for you to be full
and complete, be whole, totally. That's His will, so why not agree with Him?
It's a lot easier to agree with Him, than to disagree with Him. So that's the
covenant that he has. In verse twelve it says; "And he that is eight days old
shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is
born in the house or bought with money of any stranger which is not of thy seed.
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs
be circumcised; and my covenant me in your flesh for an everlasting covenant."
Then in verse 17 is says; "And Abraham fell upon his face and laughed, and said
in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? And
shall Sarah, that is ninety years old bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that
Ishmael might live before thee!
And God said Sarah, thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed;" It's not what you
want, it's what God wants. He said, like it or not, it's not him that I want,
it's the miracle one that I want. Isaac, the one that man says is impossible.
That's the one that God worked with. Impossibility, God turns it into
possibility, because to God, the Father, nothing is impossible! That's what we
must believe, that nothing is impossible to God. The same God that said it was
possible to Abraham, is the some one that say you are HIS house, you are HIS
kindred, and that He is YOUR Father. He says leave that old one and come to me.
God, Father, Almighty, the Eternal One, Jehovah, Elohim, He is the Eternal One,
he is your Father! Can you see that? Do we believe that? It's so easy to go to
the hospital...I'm not coming against hospitals, but it's so easy to go to the
hospital. The doctors open you up, then zip you up again and tell you there's
nothing they can do. Sometimes you go there to check out a sneeze, and from the
sneeze they decide to open you up, and the next thing you know, they close you
up, say they can not fix you, and then bury you! That's what they do in
hospitals these days. My sister was telling me, she used to work for a doctors
collection agency, and she said all they do is charge you money for everything.
They love it when they have to open you up, because that's more money for them.
This is a business! It's true that if you're in an accident they fix you up,
that's fine, it's okay. But I also say, that GOD is the healer of all, but we
don't pay much attention to Him, because we don't see Him. For example, one of
our sisters, had surgery. She felt she had to go, she went, and I blessed that.
She got up, went and did it. After though, even the doctor said that it was a
miracle, he'd never seen someone recover from back surgery so quickly. Even the
doctor gave the credit to who? To God! Our sister and her husband were
surprised when they went to see the doctor, and he said that the lady that was
with them could come into the examining room also. They said, " What
lady? " Nobody was with them, but the doctor saw a third person! It happened, he
saw a third person. They thought the doctor was going crazy! Probably wondering,
'uh, oh, this guy's going to do surgery on me!' There is a wonderful thing
happening to bring us to God. The point is, after you have gotten out of the
land, and everything, and you start to do what God says, and Abraham is now
expecting a child. In chapter 18, verse 1, the bible says:"And the Lord appeared
unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the
day;"
That for me is the day of day, because day also speaks of heat, so this is the
heat of heat. The day of day...see that. The day of day is when God steps
on the earth, when Jesus Christ rose from the dead, when Jesus Christ walked to
Calvary. That was the day. That was God in the flesh walking here on earth! But
to Abraham, THIS was that day for him. That's why it's called the heat of the
day. It's the day of day, that God appeared to him.
"And he lifted up his eyes (lift up your eyes, and who do you see?) and looked and lo three men stood by him: and when he saw, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground. (He knew those people, didn't he? He knew them.) And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:" Under the tree? Two thousand years later he was going to be hanging on the tree! He saying okay, sit down, relax, because you know what you're coming for. Jesus Christ, you know what you're coming for, you're going to be on that cross. For what? For what reason was he going to be on that cross...to bless ALL the families of the earth! All the families were going to be blessed in Christ Jesus, because Christ took the sins of the world unto himself, that man now walks blessed! You are blessed, you have been blessed, not just for two-thousand years, but from the day that Abraham made covenant with God. I'll even go a little bit farther than that. When God told the woman, that her seed would crush the head of the serpent, from that time you have been blessed. God didn't curse us, man did the impossible, and God made it possible again. So when he's under the tree, he's saying , the time has come, because the next thing that happens after they eat... well, you know that Sarah laughed here in verse twelve:
"Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I
have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the Lord said unto Abraham,
Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am
old? Is any thing too hard for the Lord?" Is anything too hard for the Lord! No,
it's not. We make things hard for the Lord. Why? Because we don't believe Him!
Remember that I've taught you that you must work at believing? Believing is the
most difficult thing we have, is to believe! If you go to a huge meeting, out of
thousands of people, maybe a hundred or two hundred might be healed. What
happened to the rest? Maybe those hundred ones, at that particular moment in
time, they believed! Then instantly, boom, they're healed. Like every time they
came to Jesus, they said, Jesus, you can do this if you want to, but Jesus said,
Let it be done according to your faith. According to your FAITH, according to
your FAITH. When the ship was in the midst of the Sea of Galilee, and there is a
storm rocking the boat, water is coming over, and Jesus is on the boat, Jesus
isn't scared, Jesus isn't screaming for help! Jesus is sleeping, he is resting.
But man saw the struggle, man saw the trouble, and "Oh God, oh God, don't you
care that we're drowning! Don't you care than we're drowning?" Jesus says "Oh
you of little faith! You don't understand what believing is yet? Don't you know
that God is in the boat? This boat isn't going anywhere!" You are a ship, you're
a spaceship too! You go through space, you forget that we go through space don't
you. The earth is a spaceship! We just call it the earth, a planet, but really
it's a spaceship. Have you considered all the things that happen around you
every day? You are somewhere in the universe, traveling through the galaxy, who
knows if the entire galaxy is moving? Now they say that the spacecraft that the
United States sent a few years ago, which are leaving our solar system,
according to the news they are slowing down! Something is pulling them back!
Have you seen that in the news? I was
so happy when I heard the news...."For the first time man made objects leave the
solar system!" Wow, some spaceman will find it out there, like a Star
Trek movie. Now Voyager and the other ones are slowing down. They don't know
what's causing those spaceships to slow down! I say very clearly, they can not
leave man, because they were created by man. They can not separate themselves
from man, they've got to come back to man, because they are a manifestation of
man. That's my though, although I could be totally wrong, but that might be the
reality of it. Nothing is impossible for God, is any thing impossible for God?
NO! Only we make things impossible. How many objects are in space and we haven't
hit any of them. Well ,maybe we've collided with a meteorite in the past, but
the fact is they estimate, that in the next 50 million years we'll collide with
one. If we haven't raptured by
that time, we're in trouble! Fifty-million years? The thing is, there's nothing
impossible for God, nothing. He said in verse 14:
"At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life,
Sarah shall have a son."
Now, this is the area that I really want you to focus on today, above all.
Understand this, Abraham was the one that made covenant with God. Sodom and
Gomorrah had not made covenant with God. Sodom and Gomorrah were just people
doing what they knew to do. They were doing what their fathers had taught them,
what their families shared with them, and they were only a part of the country
they were in. Can you see that. God told Abraham to get out of the country, do
you think the country Abraham left was doing any thing different that what they
were doing in Sodom and Gomorrah? There were idolaters in the land of Chaldee.
They had many gods that they worshipped. These people of Sodom and Gomorrah,
were not directly under covenant with God, but Abraham was. Because of Abraham,
he was carrying the blessing, and he said that those people should be saved. In
verse 16 we read: "And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and
Abraham went with them to bring them on the way."
Abraham's going to teach God where to go? I read that, it sounds like Abraham
says "God, this is the way you have to go, you gotta go over here, then over
there, you turn left, and then you'll be on your way." That's what it says....to
bring them on the way. I also remember when I was a child, when we used to go to
visit my aunt, every time we were going to leave, they would walk us out to the
place where we could get transportation to go back home. So they would walk us
part of the way. So we were there all day, celebrating, eating good food, then
at the end of the day it's time to go back home. They would walk with us a
portion of the way before we got transportation to go. It's interesting that
Abraham was showing the way....he was showing courtesy, his kindness.
"And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do:" Even God
questioned Himself about keeping a secret from Abraham, the one that he had
chosen to bring His seed forth. God has chosen you to bring forth the seed, the
seed is Christ, and that seed is in you! The hope of glory is in you! That is
the message for thousands of years, that Christ is in you, the seed, the promise
of God is in you! The only place you're going to find it is
within. You are not going to find it out there, or over there somewhere
someplace else. No, it is within you. Looking for strength? Find Christ, and
you will find out that Christ is not far from you. It's on your lips, if you
confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you have made
covenant with God, and so therefore, CHRIST, dwells in you. In other words, you
have the revalation, the understanding, that Christ is in you. That's the moment
of salvation, that's the moment of truth, when you realize that CHRIST DWELLS IN
YOU! That's why God could not hide from Abraham, because Abraham was carrying
the seed. Remember that he just finished getting the promise from God that in
the time of life, when he comes back, Sarah was going to have a son. So it means
that at this point, he hadn't gotten busy with Sarah, he had to get busy with
Sarah, because nine months later, he was going to have a son. That son was the
promised seed, was the promised one, was the one that will bring reconciliation,
or peace back with God. To redeem man back to God. That seed was at that time.
In verse 18:
"Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great nation, and all the nations of
the earth should be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his
children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord,
to do justice and judgment ; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he
hath spoken of him." His seed did it. Jesus did the will of the Father, but he
also expressed the fullness of Abraham. He was that seed. "And the Lord said,
Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very
grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether
according to the cry of it, (I think God's coming to inspect Sodom and Gomorrah)
which is come unto me, and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces
from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord. And
Abraham
drew near and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?" Wait
a minute, I didn't hear God saying that he was going to destroy Sodom and
Gomorrah at this time. Abraham was the one that mentioned destruction here. God
was going to come and visit, but Abraham says, will you destroy the righteous
with the wicked? Then he said: "Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the
city; wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous
that are therein? Well it's interesting to know that the only one walking in
covenant with God right now is Abraham. Unless the other people are like Enoch.
Enoch walked with God before the covenant. They also knew God. Over here he's
even defending them, he's saying, Wait a minute... all the families of the earth
need to be blessed by me, because you said you're going to bless me, and in me
all the families of the earth are going to be blessed. So why are you going to
go there Lord? God, you know if you show up there, they will be destroyed! God,
if You show up there, they will be destroyed. That's not what you told me on the
blessing. So if you find at least fifty righteous, will you spare them Lord?
Because you know that as quickly as God showed up at the place, destruction
came. He continued to bargain. Look in verse twenty-eight. "Peradventure there
shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack
of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
Verse thirty-two: And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak
yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will
not destroy it for ten's sake.
Then what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah Why did God end up consuming Sodom and
Gomorrah? All he did was to show up. He showed up, and then in that city, there
was not at least one that knew God, one, that was righteous. If there had been
one righteous at that point, there would have been that fire wall that would
have protected that city of Sodom and Gomorrah. But there was not one, not even
Lot. If Lot had been righteous, God would not have destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
Remember that when Lot left Abaham, he went after the desire of his eyes.
Remember when he left Abraham? Abraham said Okay Lot, you have grown big with a
lot of family, a lot of cows, donkeys, a lot of animals. Over here we've come to
a crossroad. If you go right, I'll go left, if north, I'll go south. What did
Lot do? He chose the very best, lust of the flesh. Instead of saying, My uncle!
My father who took me under your wing after my own father died, it is not for me
to choose Father, you choose the direction that you want to go. I will take the
opposite. Instead, he put himself first, and choose the best land. So even Lot,
when he was taken out of Sodom and Gomorrah, he was taken out because he was not
in right standing with God, but because God covenanted with Abraham, He spared
the life of Lot.
The testimony that it was God that showed up in the area, was when Lot's wife
looked back and turned into salt. Salt speaks of perpetual preservation. Knowing
that God showed up on the scene, she saw it, and whatever God has said, just
because there was not one righteous there, he showed up and the whole thing got
consumed. But glory be to God, that Jesus has come on the scene. Father can show
up at any time, and let me tell you, you will not be consumed, because the blood
has been applied. The price has been paid. That's what we need to know....that
God has done it already. All we have to do is believe, and that's the only thing
that I don't know how to explain anymore. I guess only by revelation by the Holy
Ghost can people understand what believe is. We all need to understand what
believe is. It is not how bad or how good you are, it has nothing to do with us.
It has to do with the work that He has done. HE has done the work. I was
listening to a tape the other day from Bishop Haskin. He said it very clearly,
for you to move to the next level, you must be operating in full in the level
you are right now. If you are operating it the full capacity of the level that
you are at right now, then you will be able to move to the next level. But if
you are not, there is no way you ran move to the next level. That makes sense,
it's simple. You want to move on with God, operate at the very best where you
are right now. If you don't operate at the very best you are right now, I'm
sorry, but you can't move to the next level. You don't fit! I was listening to
this guy, and I don't like to listen no him. But what he said is, to move to the
next level, you must be faithful at the level you're in right now. THEN you'll
be able to move to the next level, because God says, Only you can operate on
your belief. If you have only gotten the revelation, but have not applied the
revaluation to yourself, How can you bring that transformation which we desire
so much? That transformation brings the manifestation of the truth of God.
Remember how we started...you must leave your country, you must leave your
kindred, and you must leave you're fathers house to move into the country that
God is showing us. You MUST! If you don't leave your familiar spirits and your
familiar things. I'm sorry, because God is working with YOU and you alone. We
can have a wonderful relationship, I can be the greatest pastor in the whole
earth, but that not going to do any good for you. Only the relationship with the
father IS what brings transformation and change. It is your personal
relationship with God, Your personal understanding of the awesomeness of who he
is, and to know him as your father.... To know the lord Jesus Christ as your big
brother. To know that He was willing and obedient to pay the price for you. Then
to be obedient to His word., to what He says. Allow His word to be the one that
directs your life.
