PASTOR ANGEL DE JESUS |
Pastor
Angel de Jesus is a native of Puerto Rico. He was raised in the Catholic
faith, and attended Catholic schools on the island. He grew up next
door to an active Pentecostal church, and was exposed to various aspects
of spirituality growing up. During his formative years, Pastor Angel
developed a passion to know more about the Father. He was very active
in his church youth group as a teenager, and even considered becoming
a priest. Life took him in a different direction however, when he joined
the military service. During his time in the military, Pastor Angel
was stationed at various bases in the US and Europe. In that time, he
was exposed to many people of various religious philosophies, meanwhile,
learning much about discipline, direction, and working together toward
a common goal, regardless of personal differences. After his discharge
from the military, Pastor Angel visited Michigan on a two week vacation.
He decided to relocate to mid-Michigan, and found employment with the
Dow Corning Company. While still working at Dow Corning, Pastor Angel
decided to parlay his many years of martial arts training into a successful
business, Angel’s Karate.
In 1982, the tragic loss of his baby daughter propelled Pastor Angel to renew his search for an intimate knowledge of God. He also became acquainted with Teal Saylor a coworker at Dow Corning during this period. Within a year, Pastor Angel attained that relationship he’d been seeking, and turned his life over to Jesus. For about twelve years, Pastor Angel was intermittently active in two area churches. He balanced his Dow Corning job, his small business and serving the Lord, in assistant pastoring duties, and real-time translations of sermons for Spanish speaking worshipers. In 1995, Pastor Angel left Dow Corning to assume full time ministry duties, as well as to continue running his business. In 1996, he started teaching a bible study for a group of karate students who were hungry for truth. This study group evolved into a full scale church group within about six months. In August of 1997, God ordained Pastor Angel to His ministry in a ceremony performed by Pastor Joanne Bunce. Pastor Joanne is the founder and with her husband Ted, the co-pastor of the Niagara Ministries Church, Inc. of Niagara Falls, New York. Pastor Joanne became an important influence in Pastor Angel’s life, and the new church moved under her umbrella, becoming the Niagara Ministries Church of Midland. Through Pastor Joanne, the Church of Midland has ties to Tommy Reid, who performed her ordination ceremony. Pastor Angel's other credentials include his Certificate of Ordination from The Full Gospel Christian Church Bible College, as well as dual Master's degrees in Theology and Pastoral Studies. He also has a Certificate of License and a Certificate of Teaching from FGCC Bible College.Continuing his education, in December of 2003, he earned his Doctor of Theology also from FGCC. Pastor Angel brings a widely recognized gift of teaching and a
dedication coupled with enthusiasm, that has moved the church forward and
will continue to do so. When asked what his desire in life is, he replies,
“My greatest desire is to bring forth the desire of the Heavenly
Father....to manifest the statement of the creation in perfect order.” and
when asked what his desire for his congregation is, he replies, “I want
each and every one to come to the truth of the Father, which is to know
him and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost which is eternal life. My fervent
desires can be expressed in Ephesians 4:12-16... For the perfecting of the
saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and
carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and
cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the
truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by
that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working on
the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying
of itself in love. (KJV) |
